Travellers Spare Goaltender List (last updated, Friday, June 9)
A REMINDER THAT NO GOALTENDER IS ALLOWED TO WEAR AN OLDER STYLE CAT-EYE MASK.
Over the last two seasons, the League had decided not to post a "Spare Goaltender" link on its website.
One of the major considerations for this decision was the time involved in organizing a list that essentially did'nt provide
any assistance to the team reps.
In many of the telephone calls that the League placed during a critical time (hours before a game), it often found goaltenders who
had other plans, which essentially helped no one.
As of now, the League would like to create a unique list, one which will truly benefit all team reps, so that in essence,
one or two inquiries will need to be made, rather than a dozen or more.
Therefore, the League is NOT interested in placing any goaltender on this list UNLESS they are available to play the large majority
of the time, and with short notice. There are often times that a team rep will be scrambling to find a goaltender hours before
a game and hopefully, this list will provide them with the necessary assistance.
As an example, there is one goaltender in Division 7 that the League has often contacted, that has agreed to play 9 times out of 10,
often with less than two hours notice. This is the type of individual that is sought.
Please do NOT contact the League to inquire about being part of this list, only with ulterior motives, as your name
will be removed in time. The League would prefer to have 5 useful names on this list than 40, who want to pick and choose
when to play. The link may as well be called an Emergency Spare Goaltenders List.
